POST

Regardless of whether the material you use for your stairs, it can be stainless steel, carbon steel or miscellaneous metals, the posts are a part the structural strength and integrity of the railing system. The posts are responsible for holding both the guardrail and the handrail in place, and surely without them or if the posts are of poor quality making them flimsy, your entire railing system will be insubstantial. This is a risk you can simply never afford to take since a flimsy railing system poses a great risk to the safety of the inhabitants of the space. If the railing fails to serve its purpose due to cutting edges when selecting the railing posts, the end result could be serious injuries for you and your loved ones. To avoid all this, you must be well acquainted with the importance of the right type of posts for your railing system. 

The post is the structure of the guardrail that is put into place and attached to your sub-straight, that is why it is considered to be one of the most critical components of the post railing system. If your railing system does not contain structural integrity post or uses weak posts, your entire railing system fails in terms of reliability and safety. Posts are also sometimes referred to as Newels or Balustrades.

Another component of the posts in the railing system is the post top, which is a cap-like item that is specifically designed to cover up the top of the post; hence the name. The purpose that post tops serve can be both decorative and for its functionality, for instance, post tops will hold your top rail in place also tying the railing system together as one unit after installation of all items.
